RACING. ENGINEERING. INNOVATING.
Alto founders, Bobby Sweeting and Shawn Gravois, have been racing professionally since 2006 and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Florida, graduating in 2009. They continued their racing careers after graduation, with Sweeting also taking a design engineering position at the Cycling Sports Group and Gravois staying at UF to earn his masters degree in solid mechanical design and manufacturing.
In December 2013, Sweeting had left CSG to race full time and Gravois had completed his graduate program. The time was right to share their years of design conversations and concepts with the public, and Alto came to life. In 2020 Alto was sold into new ownership, with Bacchetta Cycles taking the helm. Bacchetta is sure to lift Alto to new heights of quality and craftsmanship.
